The Plainview Varsity Cheerleaders and Mascots recently returned from a National Cheerleaders Association summer camp at Auburn University. The cheerleaders and mascots received several awards while at camp including many blue ribbons and team spirit sticks.
     On the last day of camp, the cheerleaders were chosen as the Performance Top Team Winner, and they received a Bid to the National Cheerleaders Association National Championship in Dallas, Texas.  Kristie Graves and Ashley Smith were chosen as NCA All-American Cheerleaders.  The team also received several other award certificates.
     Mr.Bear (Chelsey Childress) and Miss Bear (Keisha Higgins) were selected as "Most Spirited Mascots", and they received the "Mascot Unity Award".  They were both named NCA All-American Mascots and received individual spirit sticks.  Chelsey was named NCA "Prop Artist".  (Posted 8-1-08)
